Installation

Basic instructions only. Veterans who know what to do can use alternative methods of installation. My scenery will work in any activated scenery folder.

My scenery includes land class. Land class scenery must never have a texture folder. Land class scenery can not be added to the default Addon Scenery\scenery folder. Add my land class bgl file to your existing land class scenery folder or create a new folder named (for example) Landclass and a sub folder named scenery into which you place my land class bgl files. Activate the land class scenery with the FS9 Scenery Library Manager. If you don't know how to do this, see FS9's Learning Center.

Put the bgl files from the 'scenery + afcad' folder into the Flight Simulator 9's default Addon Scenery\scenery folder.

The majority of scenery objects used are default objects. I have used the Rwy12 Object Placer program for a terminal building at Khanty-Mansiysk [USHH]. The Rwy12 program is not required by the user of my scenery.

It's not mandatory to have Rwy12 scenery object libraries installed. The scenery will work with or without them. Anybody who has a lot of add on scenery already will probably have the optional files needed for the terminal building to be visable.

Optional files can be found at Avsim (and elsewhere too).

If you want the terminal building to be seen, the rwy12_lib3_v1.2.zip is required. All the files can be installed, but the one particular file that is needed is 'add_lenshanger_2.bgl'. The texture files included in the zip go into the FS9 texture folder. You can follow the suggested instructions included in the zip or veterans can use an alternative method.

For this scenery to work, 3 files for each airport work together and must be used. They are the AF2_ files, the land class files (all) and the A16N files (A16N is an old school term for a flatten file). The files are clearly named. The scenery objects files are optional and I believe they are named appropriately what they are for. If you don't like some or any of the objects, delete that file or files and it'll be gone. I could have grouped the objects and created one objects file per airport, but then it's all or nothing. This way you have options, for example, you may want to delete an object and substitute your own.

The land class file acts as an autogen exclude file. If it's not used, there will be autogen all over the airport property.

Depending upon your installation, you may want to add '_LC' to my land class file names. Every file in my landclass folder is a landclass file and only a landclass file, so I don't need to add the _LC to its name.

The A16N file sets the airport elevation and has to be used.

The AF2 file is the afcad file and it's a must, of course, or there won't be an airport.

A word about the GPS map view.

Default scenery usually shows an airport at the default 20 zoom level. Add on scenery doesn't usually show up on the GPS map unless the zoom is adjusted to 15 and sometimes to 10 before it appears in the map view screen. If you don't see my airports in the GPS map, adjust the zoom level and it'll be there.

My airports are on the FS9's 'Go To Airports' list as well. Ostafyevo [UUMO] is in Moscow city group of airports.

For the TTools airports file

UNSS,N60* 42.57',E77* 39.59',161
USHH,N61* 1.70',E69* 5.19',138
UUMO,N55* 30.70',E37* 30.42',561

If you don't know what the TTools airports file is for or where the TTools airports file is found, you don't need to know. People who use the TTools program should know what to do with these three entries.

Every time I include these TTools airports file lines/entries in my airports scenery readme, I get e-mail asking what they are for. If you really must know, search for and download the 'ttool202.zip' from almost any flight sim library online and read Lee Swordy's Readme that comes included with the TTools program. If you do download TTools and start using it, be warned that it could really reduce your FS flying time.
